2. How does the solar charger work?
The solar charger converts solar energy to electricity through an electro-chemical process.

3. Can I charge my cellular phone directly from the sun energy?
Due to the small size of the panel, the energy output would be too low to charge a cellular phone battery directly. Internal battery is used for storing energy and it allows high output power that is adequate for charging a cellular phone.
Note: When the charging cable is connected to the solar charger, the solar harvesting is not in progress. Always remember to disconnect the charging cable after charging your cellular phone.

4. How to get the best solar charging results?
The optimal solar harvesting is achieved by placing the solar panel perpendicularly to the sun (90 degree angle). Any movement from direct sunshine will reduce the energy harvested.

5. Can I do indoor solar charging?
The solar charger is designed for sunlight so artificial light will give only a marginal amount of energy. When you place the solar charger close to a window indoors or in a car, please note that the glass will attenuate the solar energy thus the harvesting is substantially reduced.

6. Can I charge Suntrica solar charger from other energy sources than sun?
You can charge the solar charger also from the AC from your laptop/notebook via an USB cable and from the car cigarette lighter plug.
Note: Warranty is valid only when Suntrica approved charging accessories are used.

7. Can I leave my solar charger in direct sunlight for a long time?
The optimum use of of the Suntrica solar charger is to keep your charger with you all the time when you are outdoors. That secures that you will always have extra energy to charge your device. The typical solar charging time of the internal battery will is 8 to 16 hours depending the model. It is actually recommended to keep the charger outdoors, exposed to the sun, as much as possible. This way you will always have extra energy for use in the solar charger battery pack.
Note: Ensure that air can move freely around the product and that air temperature does not rise above 50°C. Do not leave the product inside a car due to the risk of extreme temperature and permanent damage to the product.

8. How do I know that the solar harvesting is working?
You will find a green light blinking every few seconds to show that the battery has energy. One blink means 5% and four blinks 100% full battery. A red light blinking means that the battery does not have enough energy to charge a device.
Note: It will take 8 to 16 hours in the sun to achieve the maximum battery capacity. However, already 1 - 2 hour solar harvesting time will give many hours of stand by time for your cellular phone.

9. How long does it take to charge my cellular phone with the solar charger?
The cellular phone charging time depends on the phone model. The charging time is typically the same than when using a normal wall charger. When you connect the charging cable between the solar charger and your cellular phone, you will see a red indicator light lit in the solar charger. Solar charger will give all its capacity to the cellular phone when left connected long enough. The cellular phone charging indicator will inform when the charging is done.

10. What if solar charger does not start to charge my cellular phone?
You may check the following:
a) assure that your phone and solar charger are properly connected.
b) reboot the charging by disconnecting the charging cable from both the solar charger and the phone, and then connecting the charging cable first firmly to the solar charger and then to the phone.
c) check that the solar charger has enough energy for charging (at least one green blink seen, see Question 7).
If the above does not help, place the solar charger to the direct sunlight for ca. one hour or charge with various charging options available (see chapter 5 above). If the charging does not start after these procedures above, please contact your Suntrica dealer.
